IPC/Senior Care of Colorado provides high-quality, personalized medical care exclusively to older adults throughout the Denver Metro area and beyond.

In addition to our medical offices, our clinicians see patients in numerous skilled nursing and assisted living facilities as well as select Denver Metro area hospitals.

“Our goal as clinicians is to maximize our patients’ quality of life and ability to function well. And respecting the patient’s individual wishes and desires is an important part of that process. Sometimes that even means reducing the number of medications they’re taking. Or gaining a thorough understanding of the psycho-social issues that affect their lives.”

~ Senior Care of Colorado Founder, Donald J. Murphy, MD

"Finally, I've found a doctor who listens to me and involves me in making good, informed choices about my medical care."

Our providers regularly write articles and give talks on topics of interest to older adults. Click here to read more.

Our dedicated doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other clinicians are specially-trained in geriatrics and work in close cooperation with one another. See our physician bios here. Or visit our other providers' profiles here.

We care for our patients in our medical offices, as well as at nursing and assisted living facilities. We work with specialists and hospitalists who provide expert day-to-day hospital care. And in certain Denver Metro area hospitals, those physicians are part of our own IPC family.

Don Murphy, MD, and Mike Wasserman, MD, had an ambitious vision: a dream of creating a successful Medicare-only private practice to serve exclusively seniors in the Denver area. So the two board-certified geriatricians (physicians who specialize in the care of older adults) took a leap of faith in 2001 and founded Senior Care of Colorado. The practice became a part of IPC The Hospitalist Company in December 2010.

We welcome and accept assignment for Medicare and other insurance plans. Click here for more details.

Our outpatient medical clinics are conveniently located throughout the Denver Metro/Front Range area. Click here for a clinic directory.

We offer 24-hour/7-day telephone coverage provided by our own skilled practitioners.

We provide gentle, compassionate wound care consultation and treatment.

We provide expert podiatric services to help our patients reduce foot pain and improve quality of life. Click here for more information.

Welcome to IPC/Senior Care of Colorado!

We're glad you've found us, and we're eager to share information about our unique primary care practice with you. Whether you're looking for a physician, are the family member or caregiver of a senior patient, or are a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant looking for the perfect employment opportunity, this is the place for you.

C-o-C-Apr-2013Since our inception in 2001, the IPC/Senior Care of Colorado practice has been committed to the philosophy, "We're with you every step of the way." During the past several years, the ever-changing healthcare environment has presented great challenges for medical practices across the country. Due to the increasing demands placed upon our providers, and in order to continue to fulfill our mission, in late 2010, the legacy Senior Care of Colorado practice partnered with IPC The Hospitalist Company, the nation's largest provider of acute hospitalist services. The combined expertise of these two organizations, now melded into one streamlined operation, completes an integral "Continuum of Care" for our patients.

As this illustration shows, the core of our strength comes from our clinicians: Senior Care primary care and IPC hospitalist acute care providers. No matter where you receive your care in the continuum, you will experince the same guiding philosophy and the shared dedication of our providers who remain in constant communication with one another, our patients and families, and your family physician or specialist.

At IPC/Senior Care of Colorado, we:

  • Welcome and accept assignment for Medicare and other insurance plans.
  • Offer 24-hour/7-day telephone coverage provided by our own skilled practitioners.
  • Have conveniently located medical offices throughout the Denver Metro/Front Range area.
  • Visit patients in numerous assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Provide wound care consultation services.
  • Offer expert podiatric services.

We invite you to browse our website where you can learn more about us, schedule a clinic appointment, or just ask a question.

We're with you every step of the way.

"I believe that good communication between the physician and the patient is key to the healing process. When my patients feel they are sincerely heard, they are more likely to listen to me in return. And that improves the outcome, time and again."

Optimizing the cycle of sleep and health

As a physician, I’ve seen time and again how factors related to good sleep affect a person’s health and overall well-being, and vice versa. Good sleep has a direct impact on vibrant health and healthy people tend to sleep well. Conversely, people who are unwell often sleep poorly, which can exacerbate existing problems and impair the healing process. Either way, sleep and health create an interdependent cycle with one another.

"When I’m taking care of somebody, I want to get to the heart of what they need. Sometimes, I know that the obvious thing they are telling me is not their genuine concern. Getting to the truth can be a huge relief for the patient and can open the door to real healing.”
